Brief background on the nation of Pakistan

Pakistan was a part of British India until 1947, when the political agitation for a state for Muslims, led by Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the Muslim League resulted in the independence and the creation of the state of Pakistan. With the adoption of its constitution in 1956, Pakistan became an Islamic republic. In 1971, a civil war in East Pakistan resulted in the independence of Bangladesh. Gangaraj Rai and Bhumika Rai became disciples in July 2007 in Katmandu. They both put their trust in Jesus although they were previously serious followers of Hinduism. He works as a labourer and make very little income. God blessed them with a beautiful baby boy Joshua Nov.2007. The baby was normal at birth but just after a week Joshua had fever and his left hand and left leg was not moving properly. The baby was taken to hospital. Doctor suggested the baby to  be admitted for proper diagnosis. After a long stay in hospital and a lot of tests, CT scans, the doctor’s team came to a conclusion that the baby’s brain was affected and that he will have paralysis of some sort and  that he will have life long hearing and speech impairement. This was a huge test of faith for the parents and quite unbearable for them to forsee their son’s future. The whole church had prayer and fasting for the baby Joshua. They did not have money for treatment but the disciples contributed and helped them as a family. After 6 Months the doctor is amazed to see the baby’s health, so far he is totally normal. Jesus is our great physician who has healed Joshua.

Here is the story of how God listens the prayers of his chosen people.
 
Aunty Aireen is disciple for last 10 years and she has been very commited to the church and all the church events.  Her son is running a guest house.  One day when he was in the guest house, the police came and arrested him saying that he is involved in some criminal activities. He was kept in the prison and was not being released. The judge was saying that he will be in prison for 7 years! Aunty Aireen asked all the discples to pray for her son. The disciples kept praying and encouraging her that God will protect her son. There was a change of judge, who heard the whole case again and took his time to come to decision. The day he was to give his final judgement he went to Dubai to the dissapointment of all. Aunty Aireen again came to the disciples and asked for prayers in her Zone. Then Khadim and Shameem who are the  Zone leaders asked the disciples to fast for Aunty Aireen’s son. And God did an amazing miracle - that the judge came back from Dubai for just one day and released her son and went back Dubai! God indeed listens to our sincere prayers and set the prisoners free.
